Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic condition that causes pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints. Affecting obesity about 1% of the population, it is one of the most common types of inflammatory arthritis. RA  is a systemic rheumatic disease, which means that it can affect the entire body. Osteoarthritis is most common in the joints of the knees, hips, hands, fingers, neck and spine, although it can affect any joint in the body. Osteoarthritis symptoms include pain, stiffness and swelling in joints, especially when getting up in the morning. If your OA is severe, you may feel pain for the entire day, or lose your ability to use the joint. Even five or ten pounds of weight loss significantly reduces the strain across a weight-bearing joint, and can improve pain and reduce the need for joint replacement in the future.

People with rheumatoid arthritis can improve their quality of life and quantity of life by controlling the disease.
But also there are lots of resources that can help people with rheumatoid arthritis function better. Your local arthritis organization can help show the local resources, but things like occupational therapists, physiotherapists, vocational counselors, social workers to help with work issues. There are people that can help with ergonomic issues at work, canes and crutches for weight-bearing joints that are required. So there are many resources to help people function better.
The most important thing to do to prevent rheumatoid arthritis is don't smoke, and if you do smoke, quit. If you have more questions about rheumatoid arthritis or if you think you have rheumatoid arthritis please ontact your healthcare provider.

It's important to note that gout is a manageable condition with proper treatment and lifestyle modifications, such as medication to control uric acid levels, dietary changes, weight management, and staying hydrated. If you suspect you have gout or are experiencing symptoms, it's best to consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.

Lupus can affect multiple body systems, including the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, and blood cells. Its symptoms can vary widely, and they can resemble those of other conditions, which can make diagnosis challenging. Common symptoms of lupus include joint pain, skin rashes (particularly a characteristic "butterfly" rash across the cheeks and nose), fatigue, fever, hair loss, chest pain, and sensitivity to sunlight.

If you suspect you may have lupus or are experiencing symptoms consistent with the disease, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional who can evaluate your symptoms, perform appropriate tests, and provide a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Negligent at best and that is being generous. It’s not just him. It’s the culture of his office. No one picks up the phone EVER.

Switched from Dr. Ghelani to Dr. Lau (who is taking over Dr. Ghelani’S pt) I work in health care and have also been chronically Ill for 17 years. My mother accompanies me to all of my appts. We didn’t even get an introduction or hello when he walked in the room. (New doc, new pts) He was extremely dismissive. He would speak over me and not let me finish my questions. I have an extensive health history and current health issues so each of my appointments are very important. He told me my joints aren’t swollen with no physical assessment or even visual. (I was in track pants and sweater) He told me I am on the highest dose of MTX which is not true. (Not even close) He told me he will not treat ANY pain in his pts. (Including NSAIDS). As fast as he came in, my mother and I were hurried out the door. And then, at the front area, in front of other pts; he proceeded to discuss an MRI and medications. I could give more examples but I’d don’t want to sit here and replay it all. But overall, the interaction was terrible and I left crying and feeling absolutely defeated. I would like to say clarify that the staff are absolutely amazing!!!!!!! Anyways thanks for the read

Last August I had a very awful flared in my body and I didn't know what was happening. It got so bad that I can't move without being in pain plus my body was super red. Lucky my folks drive me to the hospital. The doctor there did tests on me and he said that I have psoriatic arthritis. Couple days after I called my skin doctor and he set me up with Dr.Lau it was pretty good but yesterday sucks. He ran me out of the door and told to go see a pain clinic I was trying to tell him I wanted to see about my tension flared up in my body but he didn't listen to any word coming from my mouth. Dr. Lau made me feel crazy ,awful and It very affected me.
