What is a Kinesiologist
Kinesiologists are human movement specialists that provide services to the public through the application of sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and psychomotor behaviour (BCAK). Practitioners are required to have completed four-year university kinesiology degree (or equivalent).
Standing Posture Exercise
Standing lat raise is a super exercise for strengthening and loosening the upper back, and we can do it with one of these Swiss balls.
We can do it anywhere. I do this at home quite a lot. I’ll bring the ball in. The most important thing to this particular motion is our starting point. And what I like to do, I like to bring the ball right into my chest, and the analogy I like to use is almost as if I’m diving through a hole in the ice.
So I bring the ball in, and then I bring it up nice and tight until I get into a nice high position where my chest is very high and the ball was almost behind my head. And from there, I simply go up and down with my lats.
So not very much shoulder motion, it’s much more of a lat motion. And from there, that really helps give me range of motion within my lats, and that really helps to loosen up your neck, to loosen up your shoulders and to keep a nice, consistent, good posture position with your upper body.
This is a very good exercise, but you want to be always thinking, how do I get the ball into the right position? We don’t want it in front of our body. We want it behind our head. Local Rheumatologist
