Dr. Kam Shojania

MD, FRCPC, Rheumatologist, Vancouver, BC

BIO: 

Kam is Clinical Professor and Chief of Rheumatology at the University of British Columbia where he also holds the position of Rheumatology Postgraduate Program Director. He is the 2003 recipient of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2013 recipient of the Canadian Rheumatology Association’s Clinician Educator Award. He has received the 2014 UBC Master Teacher Award and the St. Paul’s Hospital Howard Stein Award.

Kam has been in medical practice since 1995 and is Chief of Rheumatology at both St. Paul’s Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. He is an investigator at the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) in Vancouver. He was a founding member and Director of the Canadian Rheumatology Research Consortium. His ongoing research is in the areas of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis and the appropriate use of diagnostic tests in the management of connective tissue diseases.
