His cardiology training was at The Brompton and Hammersmith Hospitals where he completed his MD thesis in Clinical and Experimental Studies of Heart Muscle Disorders. In 1978 he came to The Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal where he was director of the CCU for more than 10 years, and medical director of the cardiac transplant program. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
